I have a lot of fun posts to share with Metro Map Maker users like you, but I don't want to clutter the Metro Map Maker menu. Here, you'll find posts like:

  • Sneak previews on new features coming to Metro Map Maker
  • "My Favorite (Metro Map Maker) Maps" video series
  • Development logs: how development is progressing, when you can expect new releases, what new features I'm prioritizing and what I want to build next
  • How Metro Map Maker is Made: I've long wanted to use Metro Map Maker as a practical example to teach computer programming concepts
  • Polls and surveys on which features you'd like to see most
  • Tips and tricks to get the most out of Metro Map Maker
  • Fun things I come across in my research
  • ... and more

I hope you enjoy the blog! If you do, share it with a friend who might enjoy it too :)

I've been very busy since the release of version 7 on November 9th 2024, and if you subscribe, you'll get regular updates and sneak previews on what new features are coming in the next version.

After the release of version 6 in April 2024, I asked the /r/TransitDiagrams subreddit what features they'd like to see in a future version, once I finished work on the mix-and-match line widths/styles feature (version 7).

Some of the suggestions I got was to add more station styles and to add more kinds of line styles.

Version 7 added five new line styles (all of which can be used in the same map):

New line styles include Dashed, Dense Thin, Dense Thick, Dotted Dense, and Dotted
New line styles include Dashed, Dense Thin, Dense Thick, Dotted Dense, and Dotted

Now that version 7 is out, I'm looking ahead to implementing even more line styles and at least one new station style: the oft-requested London.
