My Favorite Maps: Week of November 18, 2024

I really enjoy building new features for Metro Map Maker (and I have so many planned), but I think it's also really important to browse and highlight the maps that visitors like you have made.

I've tried to do this from the beginning -- first in the gallery highlighting my favorite maps -- but I've never been able to keep up with how quickly people have made maps. (Not complaining, it's a great problem to have!)

That was a big part of why I made all maps browsable in version 6 – I thought even if I miss your map, someone else will see it, enjoy it, and be able to remix it. There are some gems in the archive waiting to be discovered and remixed.

I'm trying to spend more time reviewing and appreciating all of the creative and imaginative maps that visitors like you make, and a good way to do that is with the "My Favorite Maps" video series I'm experimenting with.

Here's the second video in the series – I hope you like it!

As I mentioned in the video, there were so many maps made this week that it took a very long time to go through them all, decide my favorites, and talk through what I liked about each one. I ended up having to cut a lot of great maps from the video for time.

But even though it's impossible to cover all of the amazing maps made over the last week, I hope you enjoyed the video all the same. If you liked this video, I think you'll like the first in the series too.
